Coming Soon - RaceCapture/Pro - GPS Datalogger

We are really excited to be able to announce that the new RaceCapture/Pro GPS datalogger is about to hit our shelves.

Race Capture Pro real-time race car telemetry
With 10Hz GPS and triple-axis accelerometer and yaw sensor it covers the same ground as most other data loggers.  The RaceCapture/Pro also features a wide range of flexible inputs for you to hook up other sensors.

Where the system really comes into its own is that the system has an onboard scripting language and programmable outputs.  Maybe you are trying to stretch every last horsepower from your engine and electrical system so you only activate the cooling fan when the engine temperature is high but not when the car is moving fast enough that the fan wouldn't make any difference.  Perhaps you have a turbocharged vehicle, you can now activate an intercooler automatically when the temperature and boost hits certain thresholds but not when you are doing more or less than the speeds you configure.  Ever get annoyed that your oil pressure warning light gives you a false alarm at a hot idle or under braking, well you could use the programmable outputs to override the warning light if you're experiencing more than 1G of braking force or you're stationary.  If you wanted to you could even connect up a cut-out so that under certain conditions you cut the engine completely for safety reasons.

The possibilities of the scripting really are endless and they don't just stop at switching outputs on or off, the entire system is completely open and can be configured.  Even the software has been released as an Open Source project so is undergoing constant development and improvement by the community as a whole.  To our knowledge this is completely unique in this market.

We are also going to be stocking the RaceCapture Telemetry Module.  This connects up to the RaceCapture/Pro and uploads live data to the web.  We expect this live data functionality to be very popular with competitors, pit crew and race organisers alike.

We're not announcing pricing just yet but trust us that if you have seen the market leading DL1 from Race Technology you will be _very_ pleasantly surprised when you see how reasonably priced the RaceCapture/Pro is.

EDIS module availability

It has come to our attention that some people are spreading rumours that EDIS modules are impossible to find and are "running out".  There's an element of truth to the rumour in that if you go to your local scrapyard you'll find fewer modules there than you would have done a few years ago so if that is where you want to source your module from then yes they are less plentiful than once they were.

We source our modules from a number of global suppliers through which we have long term, secure sources.  Only today we took delivery of more than 100 EDIS modules to add to our stocks.  At any given time we generally have 200-300 modules in stock and similar quantities lined up with our suppliers which they can ship to us at the drop of a hat.

The supply of EDIS modules has never been better from our point of view.  If you need a module, be that EDIS-4, EDIS-6 or EDIS-8 we are always happy to supply them whether you need just the module, an a full EDIS kit or a complete Megajolt/Megasquirt/Microsquirt package.

Snow

Whilst most of the country has seemingly ground to a halt due to snow we're operating pretty much as normal.  Whilst we continue to be able to dispatch orders in a timely manner we do however expect that the postal services themselves will experience delays in some regions.

Price drops

We wrote back in July how EDIS-4 modules were becoming harder to obtain.  Inevitably the price we had to pay for the modules went up.  We held off for as long as we could from putting our prices up but eventually we had no choice as the price we were having to pay rose to unsustainable levels.

We asked you for your help in finding additional supplies of the modules and we went spent what seemed like an age hunting down new sources and suppliers.  We're happy to say that all the work has paid off and as of today we've dropped our prices, in some cases you could now be saving as much as £70!

We'd like to thank all our customers and suppliers for their help.

A-series specific coil pack bracket

We recently received some feedback that our coil pack bracket could be improved upon when used on the Mini/A-series engine.  We had a small modification in mind to our standard bracket but have been collaborating with members of the community to design an all-new bracket for the A-series.

Here's a rendering of the new bracket with bolt holes ready to attach to the bell-housing.

Fresh back from the factory is the finished item.

We need your help!

We're looking for people who can help us source EDIS-4 modules so that we can keep up with demand.

If you're just an ordinary guy(or girl) that would like to earn some extra cash by visiting your local breakers yards/u-pull sites and collecting modules then we'd really love to hear from you.

If you're connected with a car breakers, vehicle salvage/recycling etc and can get your hands on the modules then that is brilliant we want to hear from you too.

Perhaps you've got a module or two sat around in your garage from vehicles you've owned/broken/worked on over the years or know someone who has them, well yes we're interested in those too.
We don't mind if you're based in the UK, USA, Europe etc, if you've got access to EDIS-4 modules please get in touch with us at sales@trigger-wheels.com
